Should I go out and purchase my own furnishings in Mexico?
Sure you can do that, but here are some reasons you might want to consider leaving it up to Tropical Cocoon Furnishings.
Save traveling time and money by having us deliver the furnishing for you.
The reality is that most people never completely furnish a home all at once. There are many items that need to be purchased to complete a home besides the furnishings. Leave the furnishing to us; you will have plenty of other things to purchase to complete a home besides the furnishings. Perhaps your new home is located in a remote area. Furniture stores may be a day’s drive away or more. Save your precious vacation time for the relaxation you deserve and desire. Allow us to take care of ordering your furnishings and arranging delivery for you. Currently, we are also pleased to offer a ‘turnkey’ solution for our Riviera Maya clients and are working toward offering the same solution for our clients throughout the country.
We are able to communicate in Spanish with the manufactures of the furniture.
Many furniture stores in Mexico have totally Spanish speaking employees. Communicating can be a challenge to say the least. All contracts and receipts provided will be in Spanish as well. We have Spanish speaking employees that work directly with our manufacturers to take the guessing game away from the end result. The end result is getting your new home furnished in the least amount of time possible and at the best price possible!
We refuse to purchase poor quality at top dollar.
We have visited hundreds of furniture stores in Mexico. Time and time again, it is apparent that many furniture stores are providing their clients with poor quality furnishings at top dollar. We do not have a retail location and pride ourselves in offering quality furnishings at a fair price.
Your new furnishings will be termite free.
All of the furnishings are made from termite treated, Kiln-dried Chilean pine. (Beware of purchasing furnishings from the side of the road and little ‘mom and pop’ places in Mexico). Some of the furnishings contain termites. We are a competitive solution for people who need their Mexican ‘casas’ furnished with quality furniture.
Is there anywhere within Mexico where you do not ship?
No, we will ship absolutely anywhere within the county. We pride ourselves in the fact that there is nowhere within the country where we will not go. There are many very remote places in Mexico where purchasing furniture can be a real challenge. Whether you have purchased your home in or close to a big city or are far away from the hustle and bustle, we are there for you.
Do I have to place my order over the Internet?
Yes, we do not have retail store locations. This allows us to keep our overhead low and pass the savings onto our clients. You are able to order complete furniture packages through our secure ordering system on our website. However, if you feel more comfortable placing an order over the phone we are happy to assist you with that by calling our Toll free number: 1-800-466-4997.
Can I add or exchange some pieces in the furniture packages?
Yes. Adding or exchanging specific pieces within any of the Furniture Packages is easy. We are here to help you create the best package for your particular space. We are also very happy to help with alternative suggestions when provided with your floor plans. Simply email us or give us a call and we will help create the package that works best for you. The price of the package will be adjusted according to the furniture exchanged.
Is there a minimum amount of furnishings I have to order?
Yes, the minimum order amount is $ 3000.00 USD. If there are some individual items that interest you and they do not total the minimum order amount, please contact us and we would be more than happy to see what we can do for you.
Can I buy individual pieces from Tropical Cocoon Furnishings?
Not at this time. Shipping furniture within the Mexico is expensive. We had found in the past that shipping only individual pieces to our clients is too costly. However, if you see a piece that you like, call us. We would be happy to see what we can do for you.
How do I choose my fabric and stain colors?
We will send you all the different fabric and wood stain samples for your furnishing selection via email.
What if I can’t be there for the day of delivery?
If you can’t be there for the day of delivery, we ask that you have a representative there. If your home is in the Riviera Maya, we can provide you with a representative at an extra cost. This cost depends on the distance travelled to meet the delivery truck and the amount of furnishings being delivered. If you would like to discuss this option further please feel free to email or call us. Many homes have been purchased as investment/rental properties; we suggest that you arrange for a rep. from your property management company. We would be delighted to do the coordinating with them.
What is the average delivery time for furnishings?
The average delivery time depends on the manufacturer the furnishings are purchased through. We have had furnishings delivered in as little as 2 weeks, and as long as 15 weeks for custom orders. Our Caribbean Furniture Package is often available in as little as a week, as most of the items are always in stock items. Our Rustic Package usually takes approximately 2-4 weeks. Please send us an email or give us a call can we will be able to tell you more accurately the length of time your particular package will likely be.
How much should I expect to spend on furnishing my new home?
The answer to this question will change with each individual and what they plan to achieve for their home. The price of furnishings varies depending on the style of furnishings, the quality of the craftsmanship, the materials used in the manufacturing process, just to name a few. For those who are looking for a more economical way to furnish, our Rustic Mexican furniture is a stylish and authentic alternative. A typical 2 bedroom condo can be furnished for as little as $6000 USD..
Do you have retail locations?
No, we do not have retail locations. Tropical Cocoon furnishes homes across the country of Mexico, through our on line furniture store. We are able to offer quality furniture at a reduced price by not having retail locations, and pass that savings onto our clients. However, if you are in the Riviera Maya area and would like to see a small sampling of our furnishings, please email info@tropicalcocoon.com and we will make arrangements for you to view our furnishings.
